WaveDeploy On-site Assessment
The WaveDeploy On-site Assessment provides a one day visit by a VeriWave expert engineer to conduct an assessment of your WLAN network and client devices, analysis of the results, and a consultation with VeriWave’s experts to review the results and recommendations for improvement.
With the WaveDeploy On-site Assessment you can capitalize on the vast experience of the company that is the de-facto standard for WLAN testing of networks and client devices and the ultimate tool for WLAN assessment, WaveDeploy, to gain an unprecedented insight into your WLAN and the client devices using it. Here are some examples of the answers the WaveDeploy On-site Assessment will provide:
- Site capacity – how many client devices can I connect and serve? What’s the effective web-surfing, streaming video, and email throughput I can provide?
- Client device selection – what is the best tablet-PC for my network? Which smartphone should I approve for use?
- Network growth – what headroom do I have in my network? Can I add VoIP services? Can the network support streaming video?
- Network planning and deployment – where should I place AP’s for best capacity and superior end-user QoE? Do I need to upgrade to 802.11n?
- Infrastructure vendor selection – which AP provides the best coverage and capacity in my environment? Should I deploy 802.11 MIMO 2x2 or 3x3?
- Troubleshooting – why are there user complaints from a certain area in the facility and what can I do about it? Is it a network problem of the client device? What client device causes the network performance to degrade?

WaveDeploy On-site Assessment - How it Works
Onsite visit and survey
An expert engineer from VeriWave visits your site and conducts a site assessment of your network using WaveDeploy, the ultimate tool for measuring:
- Network capacity and coverage
- End-user Quality of Experience (QoE)
- Device interoperability
- Network readiness for mission critical applications
- Troubleshooting and remediation
The assessment will utilize various client devices of your choice to evaluate the network quality and the end-user QoE experienced by each of the client devices. Some of the devices you may want to consider:
- Laptops from various makes, models, and Operating Systems used on your network. For example: Dell Latitude (Windows 7), Lenovo (Windows XP Pro), Mac Book Pro (MAC OS X), etc.
- Smartphones from various makes, models, and Operating Systems used on your network. For example: iPhone 4 (iOS), HTC EVO (Android), Windows Phone 7 (Win Mobile), etc.
- Tablet computers from various makes, models, and Operating Systems used on your network. For example: Motorola Xoom (Android), iPad 2 (iOS), Motion Computing (Windows 7), etc.
Client devices are provided by the customer.
In addition to surveying the site with client devices of your choice, the assessment also utilizes the traffic generation capabilities of WaveDeploy to create an eco-system of traffic to load and stress the network to validate its maximum capacity and how it handles a large mix of clients.
Results produced by WaveDeploy include:
- Detailed site maps depicting various end-user QoE metrics that uncover coverage holes, client device induced performance problems, interference, misplaced Access Points, and much more:
- Web download and upload speeds
- Maximum upstream and downstream UDP and TCP speeds
- Voice over IP (VoIP) quality
- Streaming video quality
- Jitter
- Packet loss
- RF power coverage
- Co-channel interference and SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio)
- PHY rates
- High level reports that can be used to communicate network performance to management
- Detailed reports to conduct extensive data-mining and identify, troubleshoot, and remediate network problems
