WaveDeploy Components
- The WaveDeploy application resides on a laptop
- Test data is collected by one or many Mobile WaveAgents residing on WLAN client devices such as laptops, smart-phones, and application specific devices (patient monitors, scanners, etc.). The laptop used to run WaveDeploy is one of these client devices
- The test-grade WF1101 traffic generator / analyzer loads the network to real-world conditions by creating up to 64 independent WLAN clients
- Mobile WaveAgents communicate with a Fixed WaveAgents residing in the data-center, NOC, the demarcation between wireless and wired networks, or anywhere in the WAN
- Fixed WaveAgents can be hosted on an off-the-shelf server or on a dedicated EF1101 test-grade traffic generator / analyzer

Dynamic Network Testing Using WaveAgent
WaveAgent is a small (less than 200Kbyte) powerful traffic generation and collection utility that easily fits onto a wide variety of devices, including memory and CPU resource-constrained handheld devices. Testing mobile device behavior in the target environment is critical to accurately predicting customer satisfaction upon deployment. By enabling WaveAgent on the client device, device-specific behavior such as when to roam and how to rate adjust, can be assessed and its affect on overall network performance measured.
WaveAgent has a much more powerful set of data generation capabilities and richer statistics collections than shareware tools. This facilitates the generation of advanced traffic types such as QoS-enabled audio and video across a broad range of devices, and uniquely enables the collection of QoE metrics on these flows such as voice Mean Opinion Score (MOS) and video Media Delivery Index (MDI).
